San Francisco public transportation riders put their pants on just like anyone one else — one leg at a time — except for Sunday, when they're being encouraged to not put them on at all.
Improv Everywhere is promoting the 11th Annual "No Pants" BART Ride Day on Sunday. Such events have been held across the country and around he world since 2002, beginning in New York City.
Organizers encourage people to show up at specified locations at 1:50 p.m. and pay the regular fare. They also are instructed to act completely normal and not have any interaction with others who aren't wearing pants.
Participants are told to always keep a straight face, but remain courteous and avoid nudity, though they are encouraged to wear interesting underwear and socks.
"Remember, if anyone asks you why you’ve removed your pants, tell them that they were 'getting uncomfortable' (or something along those lines,)" the instructions read.
