This shutdown of the U.S. Government has nothing to do with a wall. Some who hypocritically refuse to vote for the wall now have previously advocated and voted for a wall.
And there is evidence a wall across the southern border contributes to
alleviating the domestic turmoil caused by illegal immigration.
This battle is rooted in the arrogance of the professional party politicians aligned with the global elite, supported by the yellow journalism from their surrogates in the media, proclaiming control of your government to protect their privileged existence.
Have things changed much since Abraham Lincoln asked if this “nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal… whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure?”
Are we witnessing similar battles being fought against the privileged on the world stage? Journalists have discovered the grievances of the Yellow Vests protesters in France: "that there is a globalized élite that, by manipulating finance and capital, are undoing French civilization… manipulation from on high — whether from the ‘deep state’ or the ‘global élite.’"
Why is there continuous voting of the privileged political class in the UK for a "soft Brexit" in their attempts to usurp the popular vote for Brexit?
Illegal immigration has morphed from an issue to a problem and now to a crisis. It is a wonder that the two leading the charge in Congress against border security are unable to identify with the safety of their constituents. Does it seem instead their representation has also morphed over the last 30 years into championing the partisan objectives of their political party, the open border interests of the global elite, as they deem themselves the privileged that hold themselves more equal?
History is abundant with further examples of arrogance by the privileged elite commanding preferential treatment while denigrating the citizens.
Emperor Nero’s fiddling while Rome burns and Marie Antoinette’s "Let them eat cake" have come to symbolize the arrogance of power the ruling class exerts over the private citizen.
And now we find out there was yet another planned junket by congress, by eight members of congress with over eighty guests, with a stop in Brussels, home of the European Union’s global elite, to add to their luxurious Christmas vacations and their weekend vacation with the lobbyists. Are they not displaying their privileged status while hypocritically and arrogantly refusing to participate or even attend meetings to deliberate in allowing "debate over the border security to continue" for their professed resolution of the government shutdown and illegal immigration crisis?
Is there any doubt that the photo of Senator Menendez standing on the beach with a woman in her bikini while the U.S. Government endures a partial shutdown and while it was snowing in Washington D.C. is the modern rendering of Nero “fiddling while Rome burns” and "Let them eat cake." Is this image a modern indictment of a permeant political class that pompously holds itself privileged and above accountability?
Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers “The natural cure for an ill administration in a popular or representative constitution is a change of men.” In the debate over the constitution Colonel Mason told us: “The requisites in actual representation are that the Representatives should sympathize with their constituents.”
It is time for this country to eradicate the ills in our representative government caused by the professional politician, aligned with the “globalized elite,” who cannot “sympathize with their constituents,” who enjoy a privileged existence, who abdicate the representation of their constituents to a political party with the mantra of “Let them eat cake.”
